Carpentries@MIT: Introduction to Programming in Python
Event box
This workshop is an Introduction to Python with a focus on plotting and data analysis using the Pandas library, based on the Software Carpentry's "Plotting and Programming in Python" lesson. Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop is for people with little or no previous programming experience. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.
We are also teaching a workshop on Git and GitHub the next day; use this link to register for that workshop. You are welcome to attend both workshops or only one.
This all-day workshop is in person and lunch and snacks will be provided! Come early for coffee and to make sure you can access necessary programs.
For more details see the workshop page here: https://carpentries-mit.github.io/2024-10-24-mit/. Please follow the Setup instructions on this linked page to install needed software and packages before attending the workshop.
Location: The Nexus, Hayden Library 14S-130.
Registration for non-MIT affiliates opens on October 18th. If you can no longer make it, please be sure to cancel your registration. Thank you!
