Learn how to read and interpret maps and data and use basic cartography principles to create maps that can be used in reports and presentations. After learning basics concepts, attendees will work through an exerise using QGIS.

You will need to install QGIS on your machine. A few days before the workshop we will send instructions for doing so along with the workshop Zoom link. There will be a troubleshooting session 30 minutes before the workshop begins for anyone who has trouble with the installation.

We will be conducting the same workshop using ArcGIS Pro. If you are interested in exploring both softwares, we recommend only registering for one workshop and then completing additional exercises on your own (workshop materials will be posted on our website) as the general GIS concepts will be the same in each workshop.

MIT touchstone authentication is required to attend.
