Lockedletter Book Making
Event box
Create a unique tactile experience by developing an artists’ book with movable and lockable components to match the narrative you develop in this three-day course. With inspiration from MIT Libraries’ historical and contemporary distinctive collections, you’ll create a story that will literally unfold through locked letters and other moveable elements. We will teach you simple book-making, paper engineering and letterlocking techniques to make your book. This workshop will be fun for students interested in pursuing creative expression in artists’ book making, hand bookbinding, document security, letterlocking, origami, paper engineering, collage, and content creation.
Lockedletter Book Making is a 3-day course and participants are required to attend all three days from Tuesday, Dec. 15 through Thursday Dec. 17, 1-4pm each day (3 days, 3 hour sessions)
